Biomagnetics Diagnostics Corporation (bmgp.pk)
Health Services
- Huge Industry: The global healthcare services industry grew by 7.2% in 2003, reaching a level of $82 billion. This sector is forecast to have a value of $114 billion in 2008, a 39.7% increase from 2003. The leading source of revenue for the healthcare services industry sector is the clinical chemistry segment, generating 48.2% of the sector value (Source: Datamonitor). In the United States alone, revenue for medical and diagnostic laboratories was $34.65 billion in 2004 (Source: IBISWorld). According to a Datamonitor industry profile, the healthcare services sector should experience continued growth as the industry places greater emphasis on predictive and genetic testing. 2005 revenues for all publicly traded biotech companies (US and non-US biotech-related concerns trading on major US stock markets) were estimated at $50 billion (Source: Standard and Poor). One of the largest medical products segments, in-vitro diagnostics accounted for about 18% of total industry sales (Source: Health Industry Manufacturers Association).
- Competitive Advantages: The Biomagnetics Diagnostics High Throughput Screening-Magnetic Testing Platform (HTS-MTP) has numerous advantages over other testing systems. It is much faster, allowing laboratories to perform multiple tests in the time it currently takes to perform one single test. Other product strengths include: accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, cost, reliability, and efficiency. This platform can identify the elements present in a substance (qualitative testing), and the number of specific elements in a substance (quantitative testing) with one single test. In addition, the platform can utilize any bodily fluid (saliva, urine, tear drops, spinal fluid, hormonal fluid, etc.) as the testing medium. No existing diagnostic equipment has this capability.
- Wide Range of Applications: The range of potential applications for this platform is practically limitless. Biomagnetics Diagnostics intends to initially introduce HIV and Hepatitis B "immunoassays" (an industry term for the chemical procedure to detect infection). However, given the tremendous cost benefits of the platform, it can easily find application for virtually any viral infection detection. In addition, the HTS-MTP platform tests for the virus itself, not for the antibodies as with conventional testing procedures, the Company believes that detection can occur in as little as 72-96 hours for same pathogens, a fraction of the time following exposure as compared to current methods.
- Established Marketing Strategy: Biomagnetics Diagnostics has already cultivated key government relationships in Mexico and Thailand. These advantageous relationships have the capability to provide Biomagnetics Diagnostics a significant source of revenue as it completes the U.S. FDA filing process. Upon completion of clinical trials in these countries, Biomagnetics Diagnostics intends to initiate a 510 K Registration with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (F.D.A.).
