With the Federal Reserve Bank lowering benchmark short-term lending rates by 125 basis points in January 2008 alone, lending rates have dropped to near-record levels. With lenders understandably tightening lending standards for home buyers, this could be a boon for prospective boat buyers. Challenger has just unveiled the fruits of this remarkable partnership with the sleek and powerful 1264-horsepower, dual-engine PF 36 Limited Edition Powerboat, combining the performance and design attributes of Challenger’s pedigreed powerboats and the inimitable revolutionary styling of Pininfarina.

Challenger’s latest offering is the result of the recent collaboration that took place as a result of the Company’s joint partnership with the internationally renowned designers of Pininfarina Extra, the product and interior design arm of Italian design pioneers Pininfarina. Founded in 1930, Pininfarina is known for its cutting-edge designs, primarily of sports cars, most notably Ferrari and Maserati. Challenger Powerboats, launched the new and exclusive PF 36 Limited Edition Powerboat at the Miami International Boat Show on February 14th, 2008. Only 25 of these exceptional boats are slated for production, and they will be designed and manufactured with the most discriminating boater in mind. The sleek, powerful, 1264-horsepower, 36-foot power boat embodies the rare combination of eye-catching style, unrivalled performance, and unremitting attention to the finest detail that has become the hallmark of products designed under the Pininfarina name, and Challenger has dedicated its technologically advanced production techniques to bring Pininfarina’s vision to life.

Outstanding design and performance features of the latest 36’ PF 36 Limited Edition include a Duo-Delta Conic hull design incorporating two hulls into one for the optimal stability, handling and speed, twin Mercury EU662sci and 662HP engines, 494 kW each -- the highest horsepower marine sterndrive engine available for sale in the EU, and a fully loaded cabin outfitted with the latest Cantalupi LED RGB adjustable indirect lighting controlled by touch screen, flat screen TV, DVD and iPod ready sound system. Challenger’s 28’ and 33’ Offshore Performance Series boats are designed and manufactured using proven world-class technology. The DDC hull is a patented revolutionary design by world-renowned marine designer Harry Schoell, which incorporates two hulls into one, resulting in a constant planning surface enhancing stability and generating greater transom lift. All Challenger boats are built with hulls which include wood-free composite construction, MerCruiser engines and sterndrives, Cole Hersee electrical systems, SmartCraft high performance instrumentation, and carbon fiber dash panels.
